There's Something About Mary
Remember that movie something about Mary? The bubbly beautiful blonde? That’s our Mary. Beautiful , fun and gifted. She puts all her love ,creativeness and traditions into her cooking and meals.The food is created with you in mind and may bring you back to a happy memory - Grammas cooking, moms cooking, and the traditional Holiday favorites. Making the comfort food, just as comforting as her. I've always known her for her passion of creating dishes, making her own recipes, and being there for everyone. Me and my kids look forward to always seeing Mary to talk and laugh... but without a doubt everybody waits in anticipation for “Aunt Marys food!” Mary’s cuisine is mouth watering , traditional yet dips into many diverse styles of preparation and cuisines; putting her heart and soul into everything she makes. You will be won over with her beyond appetizing home cooked meals that you and your family will love and enjoy! Even Ted would drop Mary in the movie cause this Mary’s food is so delicious! And don’t even get me started on her desserts! They’re just as sweet as she is.

Mary has the unique ability to take a casual dinner and make it an event. Her décor, her food and her welcoming personality make everyone feel like family. Every spread she puts out is expertly crafted, thoughtfully considered and built to feed everyone and still have leftovers. Mary does have a few staples that my family craves when they know that she will be cooking but we also love to be surprised with a new recipe or special creation. A few things about Mary that can be guaranteed: Her food will be fresh, abundant and flavorful. Her food truly feeds the soul. You will be reaching for seconds before you even finish your first plate.

There are many words that come to mind when I think of my friend Mary. The obvious are kind, warm, funny and smart. The trait that screams out loud and clear when you know Mary is GENEROUS! She showers the ones she loves with her time, her kindness and best of all her FOOD!!! The ease in which she can turn any recipe or food group into a masterpiece meal never ceases to amaze me. Her ingredients are always top quality and most every dish is home made. From appetizers to main courses to delicious desserts, my family and I I have been the fortunate recipients of some of her best. It all started with a conversation about my husbands love of banana bread. The next day Mary delivered the most moist and delicious banana bread one has ever tasted. It has blossomed into a yearly vast assortment of hand delivered Christmas cookies that my family wishes would arrive every day!!! (although she makes enough for us to last for a year!!!). I am always secretly happy when we are lucky enough to be invited to Mary’s for any reason. We always know the food will be first class, just like Mary.

A little over 14 years ago, my wife Jean and I were invited to a cocktail party that was held prior to a school fundraiser that we were attending. That was the evening I formally met Mary Koroghlian, and I quickly realized Mary was a person full of energy with a brilliant smile and personality to match. It was also quickly evident that Mary had a strong command of her kitchen. The hors d’oeuvres that she had prepared that evening, not to mention the presentation of each was out of this world and rivaled many of the popular TV food gurus at the time. To this day I wish we never left their home that evening for that fundraiser and just stayed to continue to enjoy the delicious food and inviting atmosphere. As the years have passed, our friendship with Mary and her husband George has grown. There have been numerous occasions where we have gathered together to celebrate and there is always an excitement about what Mary is making or bringing. Whether it is an appetizer, side dish, main dish, sweet treat or even a specialty drink … it is always created and presented with warmth and love. Mary is a feel good person and it comes out in each of her recipes. We are sure Mary’s excitement, zest for entertaining and life will come out in her blog. This will be a great way for many people like yourselves to learn from her as she shares her skills and insights with us! As you follow along and learn from Mary as her blog evolves, you will quickly become envious of us, that we get to experience and enjoy the real life elements of Mary’s delicious kitchen creations and entertaining skills!
