Ingredients:
-6 cans of Tutturusso crushed tomatoes
-¼ cup olive oil
-1 large onion minced
-6 garlic cloves, smashed
-2 bunches of basil, chopped
-1 ½ cups of water
-3 tbsp table sugar
-1 ½ cup good white wine
-Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Heat the olive oil in a deep pot on high heat
2. Once heated, add the onions and cook until they just start to brown
3. Add the garlic and continue cooking for about another minute
4. Reduce the heat to simmer and add the crushed tomato cans
5. Add the water, salt, pepper and sugar
6. Cook the sauce for about 20 minutes until completely heated
7. Then add the wine and basil
8. Continue cooking for at least 2 hours
